Thermal Mud
The geology of New Zealand includes and extensive beltof Thermal activity traversing the centre of the North Island. It ranges from White Island, a live volcano at sea in the Bay of Plenty, and then travels west across Rotorua and the surrounding area, finally diminishing in the active volcanoes of Ngaruahoe and Ruapehu in the Tonagriro National Park, in the centre of the North Island.
